Epos Tills software using Sage Paypoint software provides key requirements that must be met by modern POS systems include: high and consistent operating speed, reliability, ease of use, remote supportability, low cost, and rich functionality. Epos Tills have long be used by the larger supermarkets, and chains, and are now affordable for single store outlets with single tills, using a PC based systems running Windows 2000/XP/Vista, with USB scanner, printers,and cash drawre or more complex small chains of 20-30 shops. With Sage Paypoint Epos , using Sage 50 or 200 as the back office all sales, collected VAT, and stock activity are recorded ready for the book keeping and stock reordering process.

Epos Tills

Typically Epos Tills wlil be made up of the following:

• PC Base Unit
• Touch Screen good for products that are not bar coded/large/service items
• Epos Software
• Cash Drawer
• Barcode Scanner hand/deck, or checkoutbase mounted
• Chip and Pin Card Reader- seperate/integrated.
• Scales for food hall/supermarkets/pet stores
• Back office system ie Sage for stock management, VAT return, and accounts.

All in one units typically will have the pc base/touch screen and customer display supplied as a single unit. This provide a neat solution especially where space may be limited. Solutions from IBM and Epson , although usually more expensive prove more reliable and reduced down time.

Bar Code Scanning and Printing.

The latest generation of Scanners from Metrologic have the ability to read several 'languages' of bar code without the need for programming, enabled usb plug and play.EAN13/EAN9, code 3 of 9 bar codes can all be be read easily.

If you wish to sell your products to other retailers, we would expect that you have registered your bar codes for use with Epos Software,and stock systems .

We can also provide solutions for creating your own internal use bar codes from Sage 50 to a standard laser printer, or specialist Bar Code printers from the likes of Zebra with additional software.

For example we have written a Bar Software application to print bar codes based on the Sage 50 Purchase Order for a supplier. This will output the right no of labels showing description, price, and a bar code to a Bar code printer.
